If you are looking for a larger facility with the option of either self-catering or a fully catered provision then The Wilderness Centre may be more appropriate for your needs.
Residential Courses:
In recent years our buildings have been refurbished to provide a high quality residential resource in a spectacular rural setting. We offer catered or self-catered, tutored or self-tutored residential facilities fitting broadly into the following pattern:
Term Time - Monday to Friday
Environmental Education Courses:
Key stages 1 to 4; A Level Biology and Geography fieldwork.
• 3 day and 5 day residential programmes.
• Fully tutored courses staffed by our experienced Environmental Education Team of professionally qualified teachers.
• Courses tailored to meet the needs of visiting groups.
• Course content designed to fulfil National Curriculum criteria.
Weekends and Holidays
Outdoor Education, Personal and Social Development Courses.
Local Authority and voluntary youth and adult groups.
• Programmes are run by The Outdoor Education Team. Staff are trained and qualified to the highest national standards.
• Courses negotiated to suit a variety of needs.
Other Residential Courses:
The Wilderness Centre has proved a popular venue for youth groups, youth training weekends, teachers' courses, post-secondary courses, church groups, international exchange events, Winston's Wish weekends and training conferences.
