Primary Courses for Environmental Education

The Secret Valley

Visit a beautiful valley to make an environmental assessment in order to save the area from a proposed new development. Follow an old map and clues to the ‘secret’ location. Teams make investigations of the plants, animals, rocks and the streams as well as making maps, drawings, rubbings and written recordings of the landscape. This work can be followed up by role play discussions, letter writing, making posters or scientific recording such as tables and graphs.
