Cave Chemistry and Cave Visit

This topic explores the properties of limestone and can include a visit to a local disused limestone quarry. Following this, back at the centre, children are led through the process of cave formation in a series of laboratory experiments called Cave Chemistry.
These activities prepare the group for their visit to Clearwell caves where a guided tour of the ancient iron mine and cave system provides both physical challenge and an excellent local history experience.
